Abstract

A series of mixed ligand complexes of cephalexin and cefotaxime sodium were prepared. All complexes were characterized by molar conductivity, IR and UV-Visible spectroscopy. All the complexes have Oh geometry with general formula {M(L1)(L2)(H2O)2}, where M= Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), V(II), L1= cephalexin, L2= cefotaxime sodium. Antibacterial activity of all the synthesized complexes and ligands were tested against some bacteria. The antibacterial activities of all compounds in case of Pseudomonas aeruginosa at DMSO (10 mg/ml) concentration exhibit not active. The Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella some metal complexes exhibit more activity than ligand.
