Publication Process

Publication Process

The Raparin Journal of Humanities (RJH) follows a rigorous and transparent publication process to ensure the highest academic and ethical standards. All submitted manuscripts undergo the following stages:

1. Online Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. All required documents must be uploaded, including the manuscript formatted according to RJH guidelines and the anonymized version for peer review.

2. Desk Review

Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editorial Office to determine its suitability for the journal.
During this stage, the manuscript is assessed for:

  • Alignment with the journal’s scope and academic standards

  • Adherence to formatting and ethical guidelines

  • Originality and academic relevance

  • Compliance with authorship and disclosure requirements

  • Proper anonymization for peer review

  • Note: Any manuscript generated by AI or containing AI-produced content will be rejected at this stage.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors for revision or declined.

3. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts that pass the desk review are checked for similarity using plagiarism-detection software. Papers exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold are returned or rejected according to journal policy.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind system, ensuring anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
Reviewers evaluate:

  • Academic contribution

  • Methodological rigor

  • Clarity and coherence

  • Validity of results

  • Ethical compliance

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments.

5. Author Revisions

Authors submit revised manuscripts along with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. Revised submissions may undergo additional rounds of peer review if necessary.

6. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations and the authors’ revisions, the Editorial Board issues one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Minor revision

  • Major revision

  • Reject

7. Linguistic and Technical Editing

Accepted manuscripts undergo language polishing, formatting adjustments, and technical checks to ensure consistency with RJH style guidelines.

8. Proofreading

Authors receive proofs for final review. Only essential corrections (e.g., typographical or factual errors) are permitted at this stage.

9. Final Acceptance and Publication

The final version of the manuscript is approved by the Editor-in-Chief and scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue.
Once published, the article is assigned:

  • DOI (if applicable)

  • Issue number

  • Pagination

  • Metadata for indexing and archiving

10. Online Dissemination

The published article becomes openly accessible on the RJH website under the Creative Commons license, ensuring broad visibility and academic impact.
