The Geographical Distribution for The Central Directions and The Intensity of Rural Areas of Rwandz District.
Shwan Saleh Azeez, Pshtiwan Shafeeq Ahmad
The key topics in geographical sciences are the distribution patterns and direction of population concentration, which illustrate the relationship between land and population. Particularly, the study of rural settlement populations is more significant, whereas the relationship between population and land is more clearly defined in these areas. This study aims to assess the trends in population distribution in Rawanduz District's Rural Settlements. It uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to explore present settlement patterns. The quantitative method has been used in this study to analyze and measure the spatial distribution of population concentration, rural settlements, density, and central locations. Exploring rural settlements by this scientific approach lays the groundwork for future rural settlements. This study aims to map and explore the central points of rural settlement distribution in the area of the study. At the same time, it increases the village's comprehension of settlement patterns. The study first examined the distribution patterns in Rawanduz District's Rural Settlements to achieve this aim. The study then used statistics (quantitative method), and GIS tools (namely ArcGIS Pro 3.1), including spatial statistical tools to analyze the central directions, and extracting central points and nearest neighbors, as well as Spatial analysis tools with Interpolation (IDW) function to explore population density and attraction areas.
Volume 12 · Issue 4 · August 2025Efficiency of Recreational Services (Gardens, Parks and Football Fields) In The New City of Halabja.
Hawraman Kamal Mirza, Hardi Abdulrahman Hamaali
This study, as an urban of recreational service study, describes two important types of services, namely (gardens, parks and football fields), which are considered among the needs of urban residents and service different categories and ages of the population who perform them. According to the basic map, the city consists of 12 neighborhoods and has an area of 567.1 hectares. As for the municipal borders, its widest area is about 1400 hectares. In the study area (47) parks and gardens with a total area of 250983 m2 and 10 playgrounds with an area of 70007 m2. The geographical distribution of services is that most of the parks are located in the western and lana city neighborhoods of the city, both of which contain 24 parks, which constitutes 50% of the total area. Azadi neighborhood constitutes 26.3% of the total. Most of the playgrounds are located in Razgari neighborhood, which includes four playgrounds and constitutes 40% of the playgrounds. 39.1% in terms of area. As a result of using service evaluation. The individual's exposure to the service was found to be less than the standards. Regarding the number of playgrounds, there is no problem because compared to the population (10-11), there is a need for a playground for the city, but the space is clearly insufficient. In terms of distribution, services are generally random and dispersed. Finally, the study presented several recommendations, most notably increasing the number of parks to the required area and also increasing the area of playgrounds by building new playgrounds or increasing their area in the event of unused land around them.
Volume 12 · Issue 3 · June 2025A Geographical Analysis of the Potentiality of Educational Services in Bahrka Subdistrict and Its Impact on The Population Distribution
Tanka Osman Saeed, Fatimah Qader Mustafa
Education is one of the most important criteria by which the level of development and progress of society is measured and it is also the key to the development of individuals in general, and the experiences of modern countries have proven this fact, as well as there is no doubt that the beginning of real progress is the education and learning, because the maturation of each society is imposed on it, which must pass through the gate of learning. In this context, the study of educational services in the Bahrka subdistrict gives us a complete overview of the level of development of this service, particularly the importance of the development of society. Therefore, the topic; “A Geographical Analysis of The Potentiality of Educational Services in Bahrka Subdistrict and Its Impact on The Population Distribution” was chosen in order to highlight the nature of educational services in this place and clarify its role in the population distribution of Bahrka subdistrict. Therefore, the research problem is summarized as follows: what is the level of educational services in Bahrka subdistrict? To what extent may it fit into the planning and educational criteria? The hypothesis of the research is that there are differences in the distribution of educational services between schools (primary and secondary) on the base of;(urban and Rural) levels in Bahrka subdistrict. The main objective of this study is to provide a clear indication of the distribution of educational services, and then the role of this service and its impact on the distribution of the population in the study area, the study was based on a (descriptive and analytical) approach, and the study area is Bahrka subdistrict which located north of Erbil city. Its area is (255) km² within the framework of the study period) 2022-2009 (and at the end of the research, the study reached a number of conclusions and recommendations.
