Ecofeminism in Modern Iraqi Women’s poetry: “Ashtar’s Songs” by Lamia Abbas as a Sample

Ecofeminism is a recent theory that has significantly influenced literary work and criticism. And This critical theory become best tool for critical reading for the literature texts, Then it has become a most important lens for finding the different sides of texts implications, so that it can display us most literary meanings, that we can not knowing those meanings without this critical theory. Lamia Abbas Amara, a leading Iraqi poet and feminist activist, has been an outstanding figure in Arabic and Iraqi literature since her childhood. Her rise in the literary world coincided with the spread of feminist and ecofeminist ideas. This study, titled "Ecofeminism in modern Iraqi Women's Poetry (Ashtar's Songs) by Lamia Abbas as a sample," seeks to examine Amara's enrolment in ecofeminist themes. The researcher employs ecofeminist theory, which emphasizes the relationship and harmony between women and the environment and critiques the dominant male culture for contributing to both women's oppression and environmental destruction. The study assumes that there is a great connection between women and nature in Amara's poetry. It also presents a tense and sensitive relationship between men, women, and the natural world. The Iraqi landscape is prominently featured in her work, and her poetry is notable for its candid and aesthetic portrayal of psychological and social environments.
