Nostalgia in the poetry of Omar Baha’ al-Din al-Amiri (longing for the place, complaint about the world)

This thesis focused on the expression of nostalgia in the contemporary poems as well as on its importance in constructing the meaning of the poems and articulating the inner struggles of the humanity. Nostalgia in this research is the basic emotional human constituents; their effect on psyche and biological of human being, this research brings to the fore a corpus of poems where selected poems epitomize the thematization of this construct. Nostalgia in contemporary poetry is not just a reminiscence of the past but rather an emotional nostalgia is an experience which exemplifies an identity crisis and memory. It is also worth noting that human feelings are intertwined with cultural and social construct, hence making nostalgia a notable poetic phenomenon of every exercised in reminiscence which poetry encompasses from the pre Islamic poems down to contemporary works. It is an emotional experience that reflects an identity and memory crisis. Humanity is within this sociologically constructed essence of reminiscence, making poetry a worthy phenomenon of every exercised in reminiscence. When a person reminisces on the past, to relive the hardships she encountered, she is not simply quarreling with time but rather resisting her fate, her inner self, a portion of her being which is subjugated to cruelty, injustice and oppression. In the other hand, the present thesis highlights the importance of reawakening nostalgia in contemporary poetry, and how such sentiment can capture shared human experiences across time and space. This study advances the critical and psychological understanding of poetics and paves the way for fresh inquiry concerning the interrelationship between poetry and memory in the context of contemporary times.

Nostalgia and Tragedy in the Poetry of Pishder and Bitwan Poets

Nostalgia is a state in which poets enter the world of writing, go back to their past days, the past is reflected as an unforgettable history in their texts, their are many poet that they proud of their pasts. they know that growing up brings dozens of problems and sufferings, poets are tired of the lifestyle they are in, they want to escape from this reality and embrace the past again. narrating those memory bring many great poems that have contributed to the development of Kurdish poetry. Tragedy is not excluded from the memory of poets because the Kurdish nation has been an oppressed nation throughout history, the enemies with the support of powerful states have always oppressed the Kurdish people, from displacing villages, chemical attacks on Halabja and Sheikh Wasanan full of tragedy. And killing eight thousand Barzani and doing many tragic events. Many of these tragic events are reflected in the poetry of the poets are written with beautiful feelings. These texts have become a testimony to the historical betrayal that the enemies have committed against the Kurdish people.

Nostalgia for the past is a phenomenon that is present in most members of society, but its impact varies from one person to another, and nostalgia appears in humans in cases of distance and alienation from the homeland, in other words when a person is uprooted from his roots and spends his life in the diaspora, and here nostalgia for the past dominates his thinking and reflections . And nostalgia leaves a deep impact on the author. That is why the book resorts to the world of writing to get rid of the pain of alienation. And back again to the world of childhood. With this hope, they can interrupt for a moment from the present time and return to the time of youth. Here, they can make a magical trip to the past in order to give their souls and themselves a moment of calm and stability. In this research, we have tried to embody the types of nostalgia in the novel (ALWAN and AFSANE).
