Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the problems of people with special health, social, psychological, educational and family needs from the viewpoint of workers in social care centers, and the significance of differences in them according to the gender variable. The sample consisted of (94) people of both sexes who were chosen randomly from among the workers in the social care centers in the city of Dohuk in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq. Those who applied the scale that was prepared, consisting of (35) items distributed over five areas, and in front of each paragraph three alternatives to answer. The data were processed statistically using the weighted mean, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that people with special needs and their families have problems in several domains, in order: (the psychological domain, the family domain, the health domain, the social domain, and the educational domain). In light of the results, a set of recommendations and proposals were presented.
